Patio Screen Repair & Motor Service

Motorized screens are machines that live outdoors in Houston humidity, and sooner or later one needs attention. A screen that stops halfway, comes out of its track, ignores the remote or has a tear in the fabric doesn’t automatically mean a full replacement.

Tell us what’s happening, send a few photos, and include the brand if you know it. We’ll tell you what we can do before anyone comes out.

Common problems we fix

  • Torn or worn fabric

Replacement fabric for an existing housing, when parts are available for your system.

  • Screen off its track

Zipper edges that pulled out in a gust, and tracks that need to be realigned.

  • Motor not responding

Diagnosis of power, motor and limit-setting problems, and motor replacement when needed.

  • Remote or switch issues

Reprogramming remotes and switches, and reconnecting smart-home hubs.

  • Crooked or uneven screens

Adjusting limits and the bottom bar so the screen closes level and seals.

  • Dirty tracks and fabric

Cleaning advice, and track clean-outs that keep screens running smoothly.

What Houston weather does to screens

Humidity, pollen, salt air near the coast and summer storms all wear on outdoor equipment. Grit in the tracks, a gust catching a screen that was left down and years of UV on the fabric cause most of the trouble.

Most problems can be fixed. Rinsing the tracks and fabric now and then, and raising the screens before severe weather, go a long way toward keeping a system working.

Questions about repair & motor service

Do you service screens you didn’t install?

Often, yes. It depends on the brand and whether parts are available. Send us the brand name and photos of the housing and the problem, and we’ll tell you whether we can help.

Should I repair or replace my screens?

It depends on the age of the system, what’s wrong and whether parts are still available. A torn fabric or a lost remote setting is usually a repair. We’ll give you a straight recommendation either way.

How should I clean my screens?

Rinse the fabric and tracks with a garden hose and mild soapy water, then let the screen dry completely before you roll it up for a long stretch. Don’t use a pressure washer, which can damage the fabric. Check your system’s care instructions for anything specific.
